The topics of space and perception and reflections on the environment as a layered whole will be addressed by urbanists Gogolák + Grasse and their guests in this multi-genre lecture.
Přístav 18600 creates a meeting place in the public space of an urban wilderness developed through artistic activities. A significant part of Přístav 18600’s dramaturgy is theatre production focused on theatre in the public space of the urban wilderness. The programme looks at the possibilities of working with public space and immersive theatrical experiences, to bring the themes of urban wilderness and urban ecology closer to the general public.
In addition to Ruderál Theatre’s amphitheatre, the space under the majestic poplar tree and various corners of wild greenery in and around Přístav 18600 are also used for theatre and performance. Přístav 18600 will be newly accessible via the Štvanická footbridge in spring 2023.
Audience: Adult, Children 14+
Gogolák + Grasse has operated as an architectural office since 2010 (first as a free association) and works primarily on larger-scale projects, urban planning and detailed rewriting of public spaces and landscapes. Complexity is an important aspect of all of their projects, including the manifestation of seemingly abstract broader connections in the realities and specificities of individual designs. Grasping and working with the potential synergies of different elements is emphasised in their designs to enhance the usability and sustainability of individual designs.
Gogolák + Grasse has won over twenty awards in urban planning competitions and carried out many spatial studies of various kinds, along with zoning and regulatory plans.
The office seeks to actively engage in the life of the architectural community through architectural competitions and public debate. They also engage in publishing activities, curate lectures and workshops, and have participated in the 14th International Architecture Biennale in Venice (2014) and the Plan Bratislava project (2018).
