Atlas

Atlas is a subversive chameleon. A multipolar clown with a thousand noses. Atlas has a constant, massive need for communication and contact with other people and is always seeking an opportunity for uncontrolled dialogue. Atlas is just Atlas, a lost myth looking for a replacement. A dawdling clown searching for meaning in this clogged-up world.
Encountering  Atlas is not conceived as a performance, but rather a multi-day program consisting of open office hours, small group walks and a final performative ritual that will contain traces of all the previous gatherings.

Audience: adult, children 5+

About the company

Florent Golfier
Florent Golfier is a performer, clown-activist and choreographer. He studied acting in Nancy and dance, clown and physical theatre at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. Together with Lukáš Karásek, Marie Gourdain and Zuzana Režná, he founded the performing art collective tYhle and has co-created nine performances as a choreographer or performer. He has worked with choreographers such as Karine Ponties, Kitt Johnson, Vít Nezval,  Linda and Mathias Straub and Ondřej Holba. As an artist, he aims to connect with the fragility we all share, from which we draw inspiration, honesty and power, and to help others to accept it as a precious part of ourselves. Based on this artistic approach, Florent searches for ways to connect initiatives across disciplines in order to work on the acknowledgement and clarification of our present and future identities.

tYhle
tYhle is a collective of Czech and French artists based in the Czech Republic. It is a platform for performance, dance, physical theatre and the visual arts, created by four young artists who share the same vision of the contemporary scene: its duty to experiment and eliminate barriers.
The collective was founded in Brno in 2015 after three years of collaboration between performers Lukáš Karásek and Florent Golfier. They were later joined by lighting designer Zuzana Režná and scenographer/choreographer Marie Gourdain.
tYhle’s name is inspired by generation Y. The letter Y can also be read graphically as the meeting point of different lines, directions, inspirations and backgrounds.
One of tYhle's aims is to build bridges between its two cultures.
