Nora and Torvald Helmer’s marriage appears to be a perfect one – he’s got a career and she’s the cutest little devoted wife an ambitious man could ever ask for. However, Nora has recently committed a minor fraud to help her husband and now she’s being blackmailed… This famous play by Ibsen, seen as utterly scandalous in its time, is still surprisingly relevant. Nora’s final decision seemed immoral and emancipated in its day and the author’s ironic insight scrutinises not only this decision, but also the doll-like Nora herself. Nora is directed by Jan Nebeský, whose previous adaptations of Ibsen have appeared to critical acclaim at prestigious international festivals.
