Theatre scenographer

Nikola Tempír focuses on theatre scenography, but he also deals with costume designs, film and television scenography, and exhibitions. During his studies, he started to work for many theatres and he continues to be associated with some of them until nowadays. Nikola Tempír often works with directors Jan Frič (The War, X10 Theatre, 2015), Braňo Holiček (Black Swan, National Theatre Brno, Reduta, 2013), Petr Zelenka (Dabing Street, Dejvice Theatre, 2012), Tomáš Svoboda (Love, Dude, Petr Bezruč Theatre, 2011) or David Šiktanc (Wild Duck, Chamber Scene Arena, 2016). He also works with many theatres in and outside Prague: he designed scenography for The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾ (2017) directed by Miroslav Hanuš for the V Dlouhé Theatre, with whom he worked on the production of Romance for Bugle (2018) in the Municipal Theatre Kladno. He was also associated with costume designer Iva Němcová, with whom he realized visual concepts for productions at the Theatre on the Balustrade (Tartuffe Games, 2008, The Cherry Orchard, 2013). The selection of his other scenographic designs may include: Hard / Softly (Petr Bezruč Theatre, 2010), Game Boy (Municipal Theatre Kladno, 2010), Kokkola (F. X. Šalda Theatre, 2010), The Cripple of Inishmaan (Klicpera Theatre, 2011), Oedipus (South Bohemian Theatre, 2013) and others.

Nikola Tempír graduated from the Theatre Faculty, Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2010, where he studied scenography under Professor Jan Dušek. He has been teaching there since 2012. As a scenographer, he has also worked in Poland, Hungary and Slovakia.
